Rapper Remy Ma convicted of assault

NEW YORK (AP) - Rapper Remy Ma has been convicted of assault.

A Manhattan jury has found the Grammy-nominated rapper guilty in the shooting of a friend last July outside a New York nightclub.

The defense had conceded the rapper did fire a shot at a friend she suspected of stealing $3,000. But the rapper's lawyer insisted it was an accident.

Remy Ma faces up to 25 years in prison when she's sentenced.
