2 who died in Oregon coast capsizing are identified

HAMMOND, Ore. (AP) - The Coast Guard has identified two men who whose bodies were recovered after a boat crabbing off the northern Oregon coast capsized.

They are 54-year-old James Nibler of Salem and 52-year-old Curtis Heuer of Newberg.

The Coast Guard suspended a six-hour search at nightfall Saturday and had not found a third man: Nibler's 41-year-old brother, Lawrence.

Expected survivability was estimated at four hours.

Bob Coster, search and rescue coordinator at the Coast Guard's Astoria station, says it appears a crab-pot line got tangled on an outboard motor, destabilizing the 16-foot vessel.
