Fort Lewis soldier killed in Iraq

FORT LEWIS, Wash. -- A soldier from Fort Lewis has been killed in Iraq.

The Department of Defense said Pfc. Aaron J. Ward, 19, was shot May 6 in Al Anbar, Iraq while conducting search operations.

Ward was from San Jacinto, Calif., and was assigned to the 504th Military Police Battalion.
