One found dead in Chimacum house fire

CHIMACUM, Wash. -- One person was found dead after a home burned to the ground late Wednesday morning in this small Jefferson County town.

Firefighters arrived around 11:30 in the 4600 block of West Valley to find the home completely engulfed in flames, said Keppie Keplinger with Jefferson County Fire.

One person was found dead inside, but no information about the victim was immediately available.

Firefighters are still working to douse hotspots, and it was not known how the fire started.
