Boy hit by accused drunk driver in Burien

SEATTLE -- A young boy was taken to the hospital after being hit by a driver accused of driving drunk on Thursday night, according to the King County Sheriff's Office.

Sgt. John Urquhart said the 7-year-old boy was hit near the intersection of SW 116th and 19th Avenue SW in Burien just before 8 p.m.

The boy was taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries. His name and condition are not known.

The driver fled the scene, but found blocks away and taken into custody, Urquhart said. He is under investigation for driving under the influence.
