Woman struck by car, fleeing driver arrested

KENT, Wash. - A driver of a Toyota truck, who struck a female pedestrian in her 50s then fled the scene, was arrested on Saturday, police said.

Passing drivers who witnessed the incident at the intersection of 252nd and Canyon Drive followed the car and called 911. Police arrived and arrested the fleeing driver, who they said appeared to be impaired.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center where she is reportedly in critical condition.

Neither the driver nor the victim has been identified.
