Man killed in rollover crash in Bellevue

BELLEVUE, Wash. - Investigators here are trying to determine what caused a crash that killed a driver early Tuesday morning.

Police spokesman Greg Grannis said a 24-year-old man was killed when the car he was driving ran off the road and crashed into a tree near the intersection of Village Park Drive and Southeast 55th.

Grannis said the driver was eastbound on Village Park Drive in an Audi S4 when he lost control and flipped the car on its side, striking the tree with the roof of the car.

Firefighters had to cut the man out of the wreck, but he died at the scene.

Grannis said that the street was wet when the crash happened just after midnight, but it was too early to know whether the road conditions were a factor in the crash. There were no obvious signs that drugs or alcohol were a factor, he said.

The name of the man who was killed has not been released.
