Internships

By Kevin Cotlove

Have you ever dreamed of working behind the scenes of an award-winning talk show?

Northwest Afternoon internships are very popular among college students. We have audience, production and research internships available. As a Northwest Afternoon intern you will have the opportunity to experience two out of the three internships offered.

Following is a description of the three available positions:

Audience Internship

You are the face of our show! We count on you to greet our audience members every day and insure they have an incredible experience. You will also work with the audience coordinator to book studio audience members, as well as write and edit scripts for air.

Production Internship

For all the soap fans, this is the internship for you! If you've ever seen Cindi's segment, you know our show covers a variety of programs. Our soap intern edits those clips for air! You will be in close communication with the producer regarding show content and of course, work side by side with the star herself… Cindi Rinehart!

Research Internship

Pre-interviewing guests, writing teases and developing show ideas are just the tip of the iceberg for the research intern. You'll also be on the studio floor while the show is taking place by compiling audience questions and being part of the production.

Details

Internships are non-paid, 25 hours per week for six months and must be taken for college credit.

Internships run from January through June and again from June through December. (6-month period only.)

Interviews for these positions take place in March/April and again in October/November.

If you're interested in becoming part of the Northwest Afternoon family, and you fit the above requirements, please e-mail a cover letter and resume to steveb@komotv.com
