Accused Video Voyeur Now Accused Of Rape

By Molly Shen

KING COUNTY - Prosecutors have upped the charges against a Lynnwood man accused of secretly videotaping people in their most private moments.

Phillip Kraus is now accused of taping himself having sex with two women while they were unconscious -- and in one case, a 5-year-old girl was also on the bed.

Police are still sifting through more than 100 tapes, trying to identify the victims of a video voyeur.

All the images are of private moments in bedrooms and bathrooms.

The most disturbing involve children, or Kraus himself having sex with unconscious women.

In one case, police identified the woman and showed her the tape.

According to court papers, she's "unconscious .. lying with her 5-year old daughter during the rape."

In another case, a 33-year old woman was "shocked to see herself unconscious" and told police "she didn't know he had sex with her until she saw the videotape."

There are also images of a 12-year-old girl undressing, and a girl who's around 6-years-old taking a bath.

Court papers say Kraus admits to making the tapes and that he's been peeping through windows since he was a kid.

But he told investigators he's "not a career criminal, just a career idiot."

Of course, prosecutors do see the tapes as evidence of crimes.

The charges right now range from voyeurism to indecent liberties, and making and selling child pornography.

By the way, Kraus was supposed to be arraigned on these charges Tuesday, but the case is held up. He told the court he'd be hiring his own lawyer, but he never did.

Now he'll get a public defender and be back in court Wednesday.
