Rescued Dogs Ready For Adoption

KING COUNTY - Over thirty dogs just got a new lease on life, and they are looking for someplace to call home.

Homeward Pet Adoption Center in Woodinville, a no-kill animal shelter, just saved them from certain death by flying them to Sea-Tac Airport from West Virginia.

"We have a variety of breeds you typically don't see this area," said Erin Lippincott with Homeward Pet Adoption Center.

Since people in the Puget Sound area are so great about adopting dogs, Erin Lippincott and crew decided to rescue them from a desperate shelter in West Virginia.

"They said can you please help us. We're totally over loaded with dogs, they're living six to a kennel, they're not making it out alive," explained Lippincott.

So with a lot of organization, 31 puppies and dogs - skinny, abandoned and afraid - ventured across the country on a five-hour flight hoping for a new life.

"The dogs are all friendly dogs, it's just because of where they were they would have never survived," says Lippincott.

One more short ride and they arrive at their new, safe and hopefully very temporary home in Woodinville. Here they get to play in a yard for the first time in a long time.

The airline that provided the discounted fare wants to remain anonymous. The crates and all the other expenses were provided by donors and sponsor of the shelter.
