What Else Is KVI Manipulating?

What Else Is KVI Manipulating?

By Ken Schram

SEATTLE - What little credit I've given to KVI has obviously been misplaced.

I thought there was a least a minimal level of journalistic integrity down at the 570 dial.

I was wrong.

And just what did KVI do to prove that?

It must've been when the radio station decided to censor President George W. Bush.

Now, to be clear: We're not talking about a spew of presidential profanity that led KVI to hit the bleep button.

No.

It was merely the fact that Mr. Bush had the audacity to pay brief homage to talk meister Rush Limbaugh.

See, Limbaugh used to be on KVI, but is now heard on KTTH -- another right-wing bastion of conservatism that labels itself "The Truth."

Anyway, it seems even the President of the United States of America isn't allowed freedom of speech on KVI's airwaves, where competition trumps the Constitution.

Now I'm left wondering what else KVI is manipulating.

I mean in addition to twisting the facts, is KVI also deliberately omitting them?

A splice there; a crafty edit there and voila!, even Kirby Wilbur can sound like he's making sense.

I never depended much on KVI before.

Now the station has shown, I can't depend on it at all.
