Lord Of The 'Wedding' Rings?

Lord Of The 'Wedding' Rings?

By Leslie Knopp

SEATTLE - It is one thing to love a movie. It's another, to live it on the biggest day of your life.

Mary and Drew Wilson met thanks to J.R.R. Tolkien and Peter Jackson.

"We actually met playing the game, online," Mary said.

Online games based on The Lord of the Rings. When the movies came out, they decided to combine their love for each other and the story at their wedding.

They said vows and sent invitations in Tolkien's Elf language.

As for the food?

"We had lampis bread for one of the desert options," Mary said.

The dresses, the decorations -- all like the movie.

And of course, the rings they designed themselves.

They admit it could seem over the top.

"It wasn't really campy," Drew said. "I didn't have my ears on... waving a sword or anything like that. The most important thing is we wanted it to be really meaningful."

"Because we're so in love," Mary said. " think that really came through... that this was a very serious thing. I think we always endeavor to live a life of enchantment..."

It took the Wilsons more than a year to plan every detail of their unique wedding.

The officiant and wedding planner who helped coordinate the 'Lord of the Rings' wedding is Reverend Susan Waterworth with Appassionata Weddings. You can reach her at www.appassionataweddings.com
