Worm Knocks Out Most 911 Service To Jefferson County

By KOMO Staff

JEFFERSON COUNTY - The Zotob Worm, which has caused some havoc for several people across the world, is now causing some pretty big problems in Jefferson County, where 911 service is mostly out.

Jefferson County police and fire tell us that they've been having problems with the 911 system since about 12:45 Friday afternoon.

The problem, apparently, has to do with the latest computer worm going around -- the "Zotob" Worm.

Daphne Killburn with Jefferson County says residents can still try to call 911 if needed as crews have rerouted three phone lines to the city of Port Townsend. But if those three lines are busy, you're asked to call (360) 385-9368 and a JeffCom dispatcher will handle their emergency call.
