Security Camera Nabs Excellent Photo Of Bank Robber

MONROE - Smile! You're on security camera...

Monroe police and the FBI are asking for your help in identifying a man wanted for several bank robberies around the Puget Sound area over the past few months.

In the latest case, the man robbed a Wells Fargo bank along SR-2 in Monroe Wednesday afternoon just before 3 p.m. Bank employees told FBI agents that a man entered the bank, passed a note to the teller stating that he had a gun, and demanded the teller give him money.

The teller complied and the robber left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Police K-9 tracked the suspect for a short distance until the track was lost.

The FBI believes the suspect is also responsible for five similar bank robberies in the area: Jan. 30 at the Banner Bank in Redmond, Feb. 15 at the Frontier Bank in Seattle, Feb. 17 at the U.S. Bank in Bellevue, Mar. 27 at the U.S. Bank in Renton, and Mar. 31 at the Bank of America in Redmond.

The suspect is described as a white male with an olive complexion, glasses, approximately 45 – 50 years of age, wearing a brown bomber jacket and spoke with a European accent.

Wells Fargo Bank is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
