Edmonds Motorcycle Officer Seriously Injured In Crash

By Associated Press

EDMONDS - The Edmonds Police Department says one of their motorcycle officers was seriously injured when his motorcycle flipped on Highway 99 Sunday afternoon.

The officer, who was not identified, was taken to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center. The department says the officer's injuries are not life threatening.

The department says it was around 3:30 when the northbound officer had to lay down his motorcycle in the 22900 block of Highway 99 to avoid colliding with a vehicle that had turned in front of him suddenly.

The motorcycle officer has been with the Edmonds Police Department since 1998 and has several years of motorcycle riding experience.
