SEATTLE (AP) - Another sign of a coming traffic nightmare in Seattle -- some higher taxi fares.

The city expects congestion on the northbound lanes of I-Five for 19 days, starting Friday, as the Transportation Department closes several lanes to replace expansion joints.

Because of the expected traffic delays, the city is suspending the $28 flat rate for a cab ride from Sea-Tac Airport to the downtown hotel district. It's likely to cost more.

The city says it's only fair to compensate cab drivers for the extra time they're stuck in traffic.
