Who do I call if my car breaks down on the freeway and it’s gone when I get back?

By Jenni Hogan

There are several no parking areas on the state’s freeways. If you leave your car then it will get towed straight away. WSP and DOT are currently working together to make all of I-5 and I-405 a tow-away zone. In the areas where there aren’t any signs, you have 24 hours to come back and get your car.

The tow-away zone is already in place on I-5 from Boeing Access Road to the Pierce County line, on I-405 from I-5 to SR 520, on SR 520 from I-5 to I-405, on I-90 from Seattle to Sunset Way in Issaquah and on SR 518 from SR 99 to I-5.

If your vehicle does get impounded you want to call your local state patrol office. Give them your license plate number and they’ll tell you where you can pick up your car.

I hope you get your car back safe and sound!

Cheers,
Jenni
