What Was The Winter Like In 1958?

SEATTLE - By now, you've probably heard of "the streak" -- in where Seattle went 61 consecutive days with high temperatures at 70 degrees or warmer. It began way back on July 8 and ended Sunday, when the mercury only made it to 68.

The old record was 49 days set between July 8 and Aug. 26 in 1958. And many have wondered what that following winter was like.

After a normal September and October, they had a very wet November, December and January, before easing back to a normal balance of winter and spring. They did get a little snow (3 inches) in January and 6.5 inches in February. Overall, temperatures were about normal, except December was warmer than normal.

Of course, that doesn't mean this winter will follow suit. We'll see what happens.
